Since
1844
,
descendants
of
ZWIRZ
families,
who
used
to
live
in
Samotschin
,
for
a
first
time
are
documented
in
records
of
the
Protestant
Church
of
Lindenwerder
in
Posen
(today
Lipia
Gora
,
located
in
Poland
)
as
residents
of
a
small
nearby
village
called
Liepe
(today
Lipa
).
Ludwig
August
ZWIRZ
and
his
descendants
are
working
as
farmers,
setting
up
an
own
business as master butchers.
In
1870/71,
three
sons
of
the
family,
Friedrich
Wilhelm
,
Carl
Ludwig
and
Hermann
August
ZWIRZ emmigrate from
Liepe
to North America.
While
two
of
their
sisters
already
had
moved
to
the
western
part
of
Prussia
in
the
1880‘s,
those
families
still
living
in
Liepe
have
to
leave
their
property,
which
as
a
result
from
WWII
had
become
Polish
territory,
to
also
settle
down
in
post-war
Germany.
Accordingly,
the
latest
currently
known
record
of
a
member
of
the
ZWIR
T
Z
families
can
be
found
in
a
death
register in
1941
.
Today, the formerly family-owned house with the butchery still does exist in
Lipa
.
All
bearers
of
the
family
name
documented
by
the
Protestant
Church
of
Lindenwerder
are
evidently members of the ZWIR
T
Z families in focus.
