A descendant of a ZWIRZ family, who used to live in Baldenburg , is recorded for the very first time in 1811 in the city of Samotschin in Posen (today Szamocin , located in Poland). After Carl   Gottfried   Wilhelm ZWIRZ had married Anne   Dorothee   Elisabeth WERNER that very same year in the nearby town of Margonin , both are founding a family in Samotschin . A few years later, two of his brothers, Johann   Gottlib und Christian   Ludwig , are following him, also settling down and founding their families. A sister, Anna   Rosina   Florentina , who meanwhile had been married in Baldenburg , also moves with her family to Samotschin , until in 1820 she and her brother Carl   Gottfried   Wil - helm with both their families move to Gostynin , a town which at that time was under Polish administration. Descendants of the three brothers, same as their fathers working as clothmakers, are living in Samotschin at least until 1872 . After 1930 still some entries of younger generations can be found in christening and marriage records of the Protestant Church of Samotschin . Those bearers of the surname documented in Samotschin are evidently members of the ZWIR T Z families in focus.
